It seems that the marvellous Peat Moors Centre is to close at the end of October 2009. We wrote about its closure by Somerset County Council in February. But there is still plenty to do there, so please support their varied and interesting events for the next few months.
From wandering around the Avalon Marshes in May to Iron Age living and flint-knapping in June. In July there is a course in prehistoric green wood working skills with a chance to help reconstruct a section of the world famous Sweet Track on Shapwick Heath.
Storytelling, and swordmaking courses are also on offer at the Peat Moor Centre. Set in the mythological watery landscape that the moors round Glastonbury are famous for, this part of Somerset is a land of drama and history. Link to the Events calendar.
