What a great idea!
The Wiltshire Heritage Museum is to be congratulated for planning to run tours that include both the stones and the museum. Let’s hope it’s a huge success.
It crosses our minds that this innovation comes at just the right moment, when the Stonehenge Visitor Centre is in the balance. Should not that debate include the possibility of a low impact and cheaper reception area at Stonehenge with use of the museums as outreach interpretation? Anyone who visits Stonehenge and doesn’t see the collection at Devizes is going to lose out.
