A team consisting of several English Heritage archaeologists and archaeological scientists led by Nicola Hembrey (Project Manager) and Vicky Crosby (Excavation Director) plus their Project Executive (Michael Russell) along with other team members from archives, conservation, graphics, geoarchaeology, geophysics, logistics and zooarchaeology, have started conducting, “…five weeks of digging eight evaluation trenches to focus our attention on a poorly-understood phase in Silbury’s history – the Romans.
