News in brief: Exmoor’s heritage
Exmoor’s heritage is under threat and needs to be defended, according to the unique group which acts as a kind of supporter’s club for the hills. The message lay at the core of the Exmoor Society’s annual conference held in Dulverton last week, when speakers from diverse backgrounds discussed the vital, sometimes frail, cultural heritage that is a key part of the moor. The ES Spring Conference was very interesting – we’ll be looking to book onto the 2012 event too.
Prehistoric sites and features of Exmoor are the subject of our educational project ‘Discovering Prehistory’ – part our new scheme called ‘Moorland, the Heart of Exmoor’.
