As previously advised  this year’s Megameet will take place from midday on Sunday 15th July 2012, in the Northeast quadrant of the stone circle at Avebury, Wiltshire. We’ll be meeting near the Cove,  or alternatively in the Red Lion if inclement. As in previous years, we’re looking forward to a decent attendance, and the Book Swap will once again be in operation. So come along to meet friends old and new and chat about the stones. Bring a book or two (Archaeology or Heritage Site related please) to swap. And don’t forget your walking boots, as there’s always plenty to see in the area after you’ve done socialising!

New to the meet this year will be a competition draw. As many will know, we ran a competition earlier this year  to identify 12 stone circles from Google Earth images. Suprisingly, we didn’t receive a single 100% correct answer, so we’re putting the names of those who came closest into a hat and drawing a winner on the day.

In order to ensure we’re not overloaded and to help in future planning, we’re asking people this year to register their intention to attend. There’s no charge,  so please click below to register if you’re planning to come along.
