It just couldn’t be better – and is exactly as everyone would like it to be at Stonehenge!
Sadly though it must remain forever an unattainable ideal in Wiltshire – or at least, for so long as there’s an insistence on the “right” of many thousands of people to crowd inside the stone circle in unsustainable numbers thereby creating major Health & Safety and conservation issues.
Oh well.

Health and safety issues? Don’t jump on the H&S bandwagon as everyone else does.

What are the ‘major’ health and safety issues ? Please elaborate as I’m struggling to see what they are.

Suffice to say that thousands of people crowded into a small space at night with scores of them standing on and the occasional one climbing up and falling off the stones and no demonstrable way of preventing them after ten years of trying and pleading is a recipe for a problem. Try getting indemnity insurance for running an event like that. You’ll fail. You might not like it but EH are financially and statutorily obliged to take heed of all potential health & safety issues, and the more people there are the harder it is. It’s as simple as that.
