The Stonehenge approach roads: NOT an artist’s impression!

You’ll only have seen a Highways England artist’s impression. So you might have got the idea that constructing a mile of new approach roads leading to the tunnel wouldn’t be very damaging. Yes?

Well, we don’t have any actual photographs of the new roads being constructed. However, we do have a real picture of recent concrete pouring at the approach to the HS2 Chiltern Tunnel to provide a launchpad for the Tunnel Boring Machine there. Hope it helps.
