While we don’t approve of zero rules at stone circles the opposite, a quango acting in an anti-democratic fashion, is far worse.
In the words of Hirst, 1995 (The Quango debate, p180): “Quangos are a means of farming out government functions based on distrust of the public, the belief that they are best left as passive consumers, and a belief that administrative accountability through management procedures is preferable to democratic control.”
That is what is happening at Stonehenge, to everyone’s permanent loss.
