Earlier this year it was revealed that the submission of a project to the Planning Inspector” [near Crickley Hill, Gloucestershire] “had been delayed to 2021, partly because of National Trust’s objection to a proposed green bridge on its land“.

How come The Trust accepted Green Bridges on its land at Stonehenge but objected to one on its land in Gloucestershire? Was it under political pressure to act differently at Stonehenge? Who knows? All that IS known is that its support for the Stonehenge short tunnel scheme was entirely out of character but was regarded by the Government as “pivotal”.
